Time to Explore the Island
chart your course
Hilton Head Island is a 12-mile long oceanside escape that is waiting for you to explore! Use our collection of maps to get your bearings and find all of the beautiful public beaches, pathways, and more.
Locals tend to break up our sea island in three sections when giving directions. The North End is considered the areas closest to Port Royal Sound and Skull Creek, Mid Island typically means everything surrounding Broad Creek, and The South End can be considered anything from Coligny Beach to the Calibogue Sound.
HHGS Free Trolley: If you need a ride while exploring the south end of the island, call (843) 816-5145, and one of our free trolley drivers will pick you up and deliver you safely to your destination free of charge.
Bike Paths: Hilton Head Island’s public pathways are easy to navigate and keep the island connected. A vital piece of what makes our town an award-winning, bicycle-friendly community, the public pathways are a biker’s dream!
Golf Carts: Did you know that you can rent street-legal golf carts on Hilton Head? Due to South Carolina law, golf carts aren’t allowed on every street, but this map helps you find out where you’re allowed to cruise! For more information, click here!
Breeze Trolley: The 2023 operating season will begin April 1st and end September 4th. This public trolley makes more than 20 stops throughout the island, and can be tracked in real time on the CatchTheBreeze app. Click here to learn more.
Stop and talk to one of our local experts staffing the Island Information Kiosks throughout the plaza to pick up your Coligny Store Directory or click the image for a link to the digital version.
