Calling all families visiting Hilton Head Island on the last weekend of January: you won’t want to miss this annual island event! Snow is scheduled to cover Shelter Cove Community Park—a rare occurrence in the Lowcountry.

Thanks to the Island Recreation Association, you can join in on this memorable tradition and play in the powder to your heart’s content. The best part? When you’re done, you can leave the snow behind and enjoy the island’s temperate winter weather for the rest of your vacation!

Admission is $10 for ages 2-17, and includes access to inflatable rides and the snowfield. Live entertainment is scheduled during the event.

Shelter Cove Towne Center is full of great shopping and dining opportunities. Grab breakfast or brunch before the event starts, or dinner after the event ends at one of the many delicious restaurants bordering the park. The park itself looks out on Broad Creek, and includes a boardwalk and Sculpture Trail you’ll definitely want to check out.
