Holy Tequila

Website | (843) 681-8226

Located inside the Park Plaza Shopping Center on the south end of the island, Holy Tequila is known to exceed expectations with a food and beverage menu that wows. Normally a pretty hopping place, we suggest making reservations for your group, especially during summer. You can opt to order ahead and take your meal to go, with the option of ordering from the family-style menu.

Let’s Talk Tacos: Holy Tequila’s lineup of tacos is impressive, and you might have a hard time deciding which ones to order! Good thing you’re able to order one at a time. Choose between freshly made corn tortillas, flour tortillas, or even a lettuce shell for a small additional charge. Each type of taco can be made into a taco bowl with cilantro rice and black beans as the base. Here’s a current list of tacos we found on their online lunch and dinner menus:

  • Carnitas
  • Smoked Chicken
  • Taco Americano
  • Al Pastor
  • Blackened Mahi Mahi
  • Crispy Coconut Shrimp
  • Grilled Shrimp
  • Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Aunt Chilada’s Easy Street Cafe

Website | (843) 785-7700

An island staple since 1988, Aunt Chilada’s is conveniently located off Pope Avenue, and is a great option for those looking to pick up some grub before heading out to the beach, or stopping for dinner to wind down afterward. Sit inside and enjoy the fun ambiance (and air conditioning), or enjoy your meal on the outdoor patio to listen to that night’s live entertainment.

Let’s Talk Tacos: If you aren’t tempted by any of the other dishes on the menu, Aunt Chilada’s makes a mean taco. You’ll find some classic flavors, but head to this spot in town to try their more unique and elevated takes. Here’s a current list of tacos we found on their online menu:

  • Tacos de la Casa (choice of carnitas, short rib, ground beef, or chicken)
  • Birria Tacos
  • Fish Tacos (updated daily)
  • Soft Shell Crab Tacos
  • Bone Marrow Taco
  • **Kid’s Taco (crispy or soft, beef or chicken)

Big Bamboo Cafe

Website | (843) 686-3443

Climb the steps to the Big Bamboo Cafe located in Coligny Plaza, and you’ll be transported to a tropical oasis full of good food, good company, and good music. This South Pacific-themed spot is very family-friendly and offers some tables outside on the deck and seating for large parties indoors.

Let’s Talk Tacos: Every taco plate offered will come with a side of BBQ black beans over basmati rice, but you’ll be able to substitute a side salad for an additional cost. Each plate also features three tacos. We do have to note that some of the seafood choices are seasonal and may be limited in availability. Here’s a current list of tacos we’ve found on their online menu:

  • Southwest Chicken Tacos
  • Key West Tacos (shrimp or mahi)
  • Asian Ahi Tuna Tacos (rare)

The Sandbar

Website | (843) 342-7263

Located across from Coligny Beach Park, The Sandbar is a popular spot for families and groups who are looking for great food and atmosphere. With a steady schedule of live entertainment from local musicians, guests can sit back and relax indoors or outdoors and enjoy The Sandbar’s favorite seafood dishes, sandwiches, beach snacks, and more. Don’t forget about Happy Hour that’s seven days a week from 4-6pm!

Let’s Talk Tacos: All of the tacos will be served on delicious flour tortillas unless you request corn tortillas instead. Each taco has received a bit of an elevated twist, making every bite a perfect one. The Tacos de Carne has deliciously marinated beef tenderloin as its protein, making it the most classic taco on the list. Explore other flavors like the pulled pork and pineapple salsa in the Lowcountry Tacos, or sautéed shrimp with candied pineapple and sriracha mayo in the Island Shrimp Tacos. Here’s a current list of tacos we’ve found on their online menu:

  • Tacos de Carne
  • Tacos de Pescado (fried fish)
  • Jamaican Jerk Tacos
  • Island Shrimp Tacos

Website | (843) 785-4950

Tucked away in the beautiful Palmetto Bay Marina, you’ll be able to sit inside the newly renovated restaurant, or outside on the patio to enjoy the island’s gorgeous weather and live entertainment. Normally known for its amazing appetizers and seafood plates, The Black Marlin Bayside Grill also offers tasty tacos on their menu.

Let’s Talk Tacos: There’s nothing normal about these tacos! If you’re looking for the classic chicken or ground beef, you’ll be disappointed…until you read how fabulous all of the seafood options sound. A favorite, the Baja Tacos, gives you an option between friend flounder or shrimp and is also considered one of the appetizers to share with the table. Here’s a current list of tacos we’ve found on their online menu:

  • Baja Tacos (Flounder or Shrimp)
  • Ahi Tuna Tacos
  • Sweet Heat Tacos (Mahi Mahi)
